Liberty Ridge Farm, an agricultural tourism destination and working farm located in Schaghticoke, NY is opening for their 12th season on September 17th 2011. This year opening weekend starts off with Sweet Corn Festival.

It’s Everything Corn! Bring the family out for opening weekend and enjoy the last of the summer season. There are fun contests with prizes such as corn husking and corn-on-the-cob eating.

The Pitchfork, our outdoor kitchen will be grilling up freshly picked local sweet corn with a variety of sprinkle flavors to choose for you to season your own ear just the way you like it. Our famous corn chowder is made from the freshest local ingredients and boy is it good! We grow the best gourmet popcorn in the northeast, families buy it freshly popped or purchase a bag of kernels to pop at home we go through 40,000 lbs a year,now thats pop-tastic!

The 2011 NASA Hubble Space Telescope Adventure Corn Maze is one of the most interesting designs we have collaborated on yet. This year as families walk thru the maze they take a step in history in the once in a lifetime coordinated corn maze celebration across the US. The SpaceFarm7 outreach is aimed a educatin g future generations on space travel and growing food in outer space. Our farm has been chosen as the Northeast representative of the SpaceFarm7.

So many new interesting atractions this year, The Jumping Pillow a – 100 foot long balloon anchored into the ground so kids and parents can jump towards the stars together.

The Spider Web and the All NEW Pumpkin Shooters ! We work very hard in the off season.

At the heart of Liberty Ridge Farm is a SpaceFarm7 adventure, the NASA Hubble Space Telescope Adventure Corn Maze offering an interactive learning experience that allows each maze goer to navigate their way through the twists and turns of outer space,with a galaxy worth of stars, the Space Shuttle and of course the Hubble Telescope in orbit.

An all day fall adventure includes:

  • Delicious Food – Offered at 3 locations on the farm,The Gifford Barn, The Pitchfork and Miss Moo’s will have your tastebuds in a frenzy, from Apple Cider Slushies & Fresh Apple Cider Donuts, Fudge. If you rlooking for ranch style or a burger and a pile of Saratoga Chips, well all these goodies make you see why farm’s are good for our planet.

  • The NEW Jumping Pillow is our newest addition to the farm, our anti-gravity inspired activity. Each and every person has to take a jump, the laughs are plentiful when parents and child jump in joy! This is our anti-gravity inspired activity.

  • The Pumpkin Cannon show provides a punkin chunkin shot that carries that pumpkin with amazing physics and kinetic energy send that pumpkin sailing over a quarter of a mile away !

  • The Bee Barn, an observational bee hive, can you find the queen, she is clearly marked and is the backbone to the whole hive. Its amazing to see the pollination process and the importance of bees to our food source.

  • A pre-school & Toddler favorite – Lil’ Farmersville, designed to be developmentally appropriate for children 6 and under.

  • The Hubble Space Telescope Adventure Corn maze – An amazing design that was a collaboration between Goddard Space Flight Center and NASA to create an experience that allows families to navigate their way through the twists and turns of outer space as we pay tribute to the 20 year successful mission of the Hubble Space Telescope..

  • Brad’s Barnyard – Hosts over 20 activities for body and mind that implement hand/eye coordination and exercise. New for 2011 the Jumping Pillow!

Located through-out the farm, there are new information stations that offer suggestions, maps of activities and show schedules. Campers experience an awesome time navigating the Capital Region’s largest corn maze and engaging in Brad’s Barnyard activities, full of fun and learning.

Liberty Ridge Farm‘s field trip is both educational and fun,” said Cynthia Gifford, Owner Liberty Ridge Farm. “In addition to fun in the area’s largest corn maze, kids can experience over 30 educational and fun adventures in Brad’s Barnyard Activities. Not far from anywhere in the Capital Region, Liberty Ridge Farm in Schaghticoke is the perfect place to grow imaginations.”

Farm Adventures begin July 20th and go through September 2nd and are offered every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Groups enjoy three hours on the farm at $9 per camper, with no admission charge for staff. A farm fresh option is picking ½ pint of the freshest blueberries to take home for additional $2.

Campers can bring their own bagged lunch, or we offer our farm lunch for an additional $5. TheFarm Hand Lunchincludes a hot dog, bag of chips, a bottle of water and our own freshly picked blueberries, served family style. Lunch is served at the “Pitch Fork” (our outdoor kitchen) and at the time specified when placing the order. Picnic tables and shaded areas are available for everyone to enjoy their lunches.

    Have enjoyed our Fall visit, with two grandsons, the past two years. Intend to come again this Fall. Like the site map but would like to see captions of activities listed at sites.

      We hope your visit this year will be even better than last years. We have new additions on the farm with our Brand New Corn Maze Building we have thought about naming the Corn Maze Museum and some new scary characters for the Harvest Haunt. Our Map is our new work of art and we welcome feedback as it is a work in progress.
