The Madman Farmer turns Fall Festival to Fall Fright over Halloween Weekend

Something evil is brewing this weekend at Liberty Ridge Farm, screams and weird sounds are expected to be heard from the farmer’s haunted house, as the Fall Harvest Festival turns to Fall Fright starting at 7pm, October 28th, 29th & 30th. Liberty Ridge Farm warns tresspassers to beware, the farmer and his army of corn stalkers will have anyone fighting to make it back alive. On the edge of the 13 foot tall corn field, a forgotten, run down house is where the farmer lives, after years of hearing madening voices in his head, the farmer has finally gone mad.

Liberty RIdge Farm is home to the The Capital Region’s Newest Haunted Attraction with admission including; 4 Haunted elements, Brad’s Barnyard Adventure The Psychic Sideshow with EvilDan & Colleen the Sideshow Queen, Fort HuntD and the Spooky Corn Maze. The new midway style show is filled with danger and suspense, starting at 7pm each haunt night, you can see many performances by Colleen the sideshow Queen and EvilDan. They amuse the crowd with The BreadStick of Death where onlookers gasp when they hear the loud crack of the whip, or the interesting and sometimes disgusting Ritual of the 4 Dead Flies.

The Harvest Haunt is open for an extended weekend October 28th, 29th & Sunday the 30th of the Halloween Weekend. Liberty Ridge Farm invites the bravest souls if they dare to trespass on the farm after dark for a haunting experience that will be the last haunting weekend of the season. SCHAGHTICOKE, NY (10/21/2011)(readMedia)– Liberty Ridge Farm is calling families, little wranglers and rustlers to the farm for an Old West Weekend from 1pm to 5pm Saturday and Sunday October 22nd & 23rd. Liberty Ridge Farm located in Schaghticoke, NY is home to the Capital District’s largest and original Corn Maze. Western Weekend kicks off with a festival of activities including face painting, balloon artistry, inflatable horse races, rope a steer, marshmallow gun shooting and the NASA Hubble Telescope Corn Maze. The farm will have cowboys & prospectors and even a chicken Sheriff deputizing each little wrangler and rustler. The farm will be serving up apple cider donuts, fall mums, pumpkins, corn stalks, apple cider slushies and a wide variety of foods and delights from the farm kitchen.

Liberty Ridge Farm is open Friday and Saturday 10am – 10pm, with the last Ticket Sold 9:30pm. Liberty Ridge Farm and NASA are working in the SpaceFarm7 collaboration to educate families and children on space exploration thru their out of this world corn maze design. The opportunity to “Get Lost” among the stars in the Hubble Telescope Adventure Maze is a once in a lifetime event. The maze is made of 2 phases, Phase 1 bring you out to the edge of space with twists and turns that take an estimate of approximately 20-30 minutes to complete the phase. Phase 2 of the corn maze will take maze goers deeper into outer space and have them navigating stars, galaxies and the Hubble Telescope as each maze goer attempts to complete their mission in under an hour. After maze goers complete the corn maze, an Old West celebration will have; pioneers, prospectors, cowboys, outlaws and saloon girls around the farm. Western Weekend will have face painting by Magic Brushes and balloon artistry, jokes and tricks from Farmer Bruce. The riding ring will host friendly competition for all ages that will include; inflatable miniature pony races, sack races and marshmallow gun shooting, panning for gold and much more.

The corn maze is one of those fall things you do , like pumpkin picking or apple picking.  At Liberty Ridge Farm we are very proud when we hear we are a fall tradition so for many in the Capital District.  In our 12th season our corn maze invites  you to come and intentionally Get Lost,  and navigate the twists and turns to get out.  This year our 2011 maze design is coupled with a NASA blast off.  As you wander thru space in the Hubble Corn Maze you mark history with each step in the 11 acre corn maze that is dedicated to the 20 year successful Hubble Space Telescope Mission in a collaboration to educate children on space exploration. It’s pumpkins galore! Join us in celebrating this fall’s pumpkin harvest with opportunities to paint your own pumpkin to take home. Participate in the gourd toss and bobbing for donuts games. The Farm’s chef will be creating some new delicious pumpkin delights.

The Pumpkin Cannon will be shot off every hour! Throughout the day there will be face painting by Magic Brushes and Farmer Bruce will be strolling the grounds with balloon artistry, tricks and jokes. This is the Pumpkin Princess’ favorite weekend. She will grace us with her presences, smiling for anyone with a camera.

Liberty Ridge Farm focuses on wholesome family activities that entertain.  Children love Liberty Ridge Farm for the activities and the open spaces, walking in Brad’s Barnyard you enjoy the fall outdoors with over 20 laugh inspiring activities to do.  From the jumping pillow to the enjoyment of Sand Mountain, each day grows memories on the farm.
